Union Township Active Retirees Enjoy Senior Fun Day

UNION, NJ - Union's seniors were treated to a morning of entertainment on Monday, as the Union Elks hosted a Senior Fun Day as part of the Union Township Active Retirees' Monday Day Club.

More than 90 attendees took part in various outdoor games and dancing during the event, which also included a lunch of assorted sub sandwiches and chips.

"It's been wonderful," said Allen Collins, President of the Union Township Active Retirees. "The weather's been great, and we're trying to take advantage of the fantastic day."

Among the activities were lawn darts, ring toss, and high roller dice. After everyone had a chance to participate, the winner of each game received a toy water gun and a basket of flowers.

With the Fourth of July approaching, a number of seniors dressed in their best red, white, and blue outfits. Some of the songs had a similar patriotic theme, such as "America" by Ray Charles.

Union Township Committeeman James Bowser also had a chance to stop by to greet the seniors and hear from those in attendance.

"Our message is that we're just here to have fun and enjoy the outdoors, that's really what it's all about," said Collins.
