UAW accuses Cornell of unfair labor practices
ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) – The United Auto Workers (UAW) labor union has accused Cornell University of unfair labor practices. The UAW has filed seven charges against the school with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), including retaliation against union activities, and interference with workers’ rights. Negotiations continue for a new employment contract after the previous one expired on June 30. UAW Local 2300, representing service and maintenance workers at Cornell, has been pushing for substantial wage increases and cost-of-living adjustments.
New Syracuse Apartment Delays Opening
A new Syracuse apartment building has delayed its opening move in date by two days. Residents of The Coda that agreed to the new start date will be issued a $750 credit, residents were told by The Coda Officials. The Coda Official Representative John Hoover gave reasons for the delay.

UPDATED: Fatal Crash on Clark Mills Road in Whitestown
7/31; 8:45 p.m. - The Oneida County Sheriff's Office reports that Zechariah Lightsey, 37, of Canastota, was driving eastbound on Clark Mills Rd when he failed to keep right, went off the road, struck a mailbox, utility pole and came to rest after hitting a home. Lightsey was pronounced deceased at the scene. No one in the home was injured.
