Syracuse.com’s Mount Rushmore Project is an endeavor that identifies the four best boys and girls athletes in the history of selected Section III schools. Tully is one of the programs we highlighted this summer, along with Baldwinsville, Hamilton, Henninger, Utica Proctor and Westhill.

Governor Hochul Announces Completion of Emergency Access Gate in Orange County. Governor Kathy Hochul today announced the completion of the emergency access gate along Interstate 84 at County Route 49 in the Town of Wawayanda, Orange County. In the aftermath of last September’s bus crash on I-84, Governor Hochul committed to working with federal, state and local authorities on the request for additional crash gates. This request was granted by the Federal Highway Administration earlier this year and the State Department of Transportation immediately began coordinating with the Town of Wawayanda to expedite construction on the crash gates. The new access gate provides direct access to Interstate 84 for local emergency service vehicles and first responders, facilitating a speedier response time and ensuring the fastest possible route to emergencies along the Interstate.

School supply drive for teachers in in Cortland, Homer
CORTLAND, NY (CortacaToday) – You can help educators in Cortland and Homer. A school supplies drive begins today for teachers in the Cortland and Homer school districts. The drive is a collaboration between the Rotary Club of Cortland and Guthrie Cortland Medical Group. The drive runs through the 16th. Donation bins are located at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center and all Guthrie medical offices in Cortland and Homer.
UAW accuses Cornell of unfair labor practices
ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) – The United Auto Workers (UAW) labor union has accused Cornell University of unfair labor practices. The UAW has filed seven charges against the school with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), including retaliation against union activities, and interference with workers’ rights. Negotiations continue for a new employment contract after the previous one expired on June 30. UAW Local 2300, representing service and maintenance workers at Cornell, has been pushing for substantial wage increases and cost-of-living adjustments.
