Cornell Men’s Hockey To Face ECAC Hockey Rival Quinnipiac In Frozen Apple At Madison Square Garden
NEW YORK — The cream of the crop of ECAC Hockey will convene on the storied ice in Manhattan on Saturday, Nov. 30, as the Cornell men’s hockey team will face Quinnipiac at the 2024 Frozen Apple at Madison Square Garden, it was announced jointly by Cornell, Quinnipiac, and Madison Square Garden.

Governor Hochul Announces the Start of Construction on a Lead Service Line Replacement Project in the City of Rochester. Governor Kathy Hochul today announced the start of construction on a critical drinking water project to replace 772 residential lead and galvanized drinking water service lines in the City of Rochester. This vital $5 million project is supported by a $3 million Water Infrastructure Improvement (WIIA) grant from the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation (EFC) and will advance the City’s plan to replace all lead service lines by 2030.
City police chief officially retires
City of Cortland police chief Paul Sandy officially retired on Wednesday (July 31) after 39 years of service. A walkout ceremony and retirement celebration was held for Sandy between the city police and fire departments on Court Street. A handful of police officers, colleagues, friends and family members convened at the ceremony to honor Sandy for his service that spanned across four decades.
One person emergency airlifted after pick-up truck drops 40 ft. into Lake Seneca
BURDETT, N.Y. (WENY) -- One person was emergency airlifted from Watkins Glen on the morning of Thursday, August 1st after a contractor's pick-up truck rolled into a 40 foot drop into Lake Seneca in Burdett. According to first responders on the scene, the contractor driving the truck jumped into it while it was rolling in an unsuccessful attempt to stop it.
