Central NY driver dies when pickup truck crashes into home
Whitestown, N.Y. — A 37-year-old Madison County man died Wednesday afternoon after his pickup truck went off a road and crashed into a home, sheriff’s deputies said. Zechariah L. Lightsey, of Canastota, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado east on Clark Mills Road at around 3:33 p.m. when his truck veered into the opposite lane and off the road, Oneida County deputies said. It crashed into a mailbox, a utility pole and finally a home, deputies said.

The largest commercial bakery company in the U.S. is closing its facilities in two Upstate New York communities, eliminating 131 jobs. Bimbo Bakeries USA Inc. filed a notice under the state Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act last week announcing it plans to close it bakeries in Auburn in Cayuga County and Olean in Cattaraugus County.
