ESPN ranks pair of Wildcats among top 100 players in college football
A pair of Wildcats have been ranked among the top 100 players in college football this season by ESPN. After not being included in the top 100 a year ago, Kentucky junior nose tackle Deone Walker checked in at No. 21. Among SEC players, Walker is ranked ninth and third among defensive lineman.
Kentucky Democratic lawmaker stripped of committee assignments amid investigation
Louisville Democratic Rep. Daniel Grossberg was removed from all of his interim committee assignments Tuesday amid allegations of misconduct toward women. Grossberg’s lawyer said the initial Legislative Research Commission (LRC) investigation has been closed with no findings of impropriety. LRC spokesperson Mike Wynn said they do not comment on possible investigations, and they are “reviewing information on this matter as it becomes available.”
Waynesburg man accused of stealing a woman’s truck, running her over
The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office said in a news release that just before noon on Saturday deputies were dispatched to the area of Cemetery Road in Waynesburg in response to a report of a man who had "stolen a vehicle and ran over a female subject."

USI drops season opener at Arkansas State
JONESBORO, Ark. - University of Southern Indiana Women's Soccer opened its 2024 season by falling 3-0 on the road to Arkansas State University on Sunday afternoon. USI got some offensive momentum out of the gate by putting together three possessions ending in shots on goal in the first twenty minutes. The best scoring chance early came off the leg of senior midfielder Maggie Duggan (Defiance, Missouri) from outside the box that forced Arkansas State's goalkeeper to make a save to her left.
Kentucky State Fair announces largest watermelon & pumpkin
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Kentucky’s 2024 Largest Watermelon and Pumpkin Contest ended Saturday and the results are in. Dwight Slone of Floyd County was awarded with the largest pumpkin. His pumpkin weighed in at 1,133 pounds. Frank Mudd of Meade County was awarded with the largest watermelon. His watermelon weighed in at 233.2 pounds.
