MAPLEWOOD, Mo. — A St. Louis mother rehashed the unfathomable and sudden loss of her only two sons who became the victims of gun violence two years ago. On Wednesday morning, Samica Sandelbach, the mother of Jakobe Bass, sat in federal court to hear the fate of one of the three people who killed her youngest son. Bass, 19, was just a few months away from going to South Dakota for college when he was shot over 30 times in Maplewood on Feb. 8, 2022.

St. Louis woman arrested for theft in Jefferson City followed by police chase that spanned almost 90 miles
One of two people wanted for a theft out of Jefferson City is captured following a police chase that travels into the St. Louis area. The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office reports it was contacted Friday afternoon by the JCPD for assistance locating a black Mercedes SUV that was involved in a theft from a Jefferson City business. About 30 minutes later, deputies received information that the vehicle was traveling on Highway 63 into Boone County.

A man identified as Kevin Gauge has been arrested in St. Louis, Missouri, following a series of thefts from a recently opened Target store. Police say that Gauge, a known repeat offender, has a history of felony theft charges dating back several years. Two charged in infant death
Charges have been filed against a Granite City couple in the death of a 2-month-old who died about 2 months ago. 41-year-old Sarrah Cheung and her boyfriend, 27-year-old Patrick Godfrey are each charged with Involuntary Manslaughter and Endangering the Life or Health of a Child. The boy died the morning of June 29 at a home in the 2,100 block of Bryan Avenue in Granite City.
