Dallas police investigate early morning fatal shooting
DALLAS, Texas — A man was found shot and killed early Sunday morning in Dallas, police say. On July 21, 2024, at approximately 3:55 a.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting call in the 3300 block of W. Pentagon Parkway. Upon arrival, officers discovered 31-year-old Patrick Lee Island II lying on the ground with gunshot wounds. Dallas Fire Rescue responded, but Island was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a press release from the Dallas Police Department. The investigation is ongoing and will be documented under case number 111594-2024. On July 19, 2024 at about 8:45 PM, Dallas Fire Rescue and Police responded to an accident call at Southwell Road and Harry Hines Boulevard. The preliminary investigation determined a motorcycle occupied by two individuals was traveling northbound on Harry Hines Boulevard. A 20-year-old man was driving a truck southbound on Harry Hines Boulevard when he turned left on Southwell Road and crashed into the motorcycle.

The preliminary investigation determined that 35-year-old Lydie Zebaze Metsindon was walking on the Cedar Crest bridge when an unknown vehicle traveling northbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard struck her. The driver fled the scene without stopping to assist Zebaze Metsindon, who died at the scene.
