Elizabethtown man sentenced for his role in Jan. 6, 2021, riot at U.S. Capitol
A Hardin County man has been sentenced for his role in the January 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. William “Jessie” Stover, 47, of Elizabethtown, was charged in a criminal complaint filed in the District of Columbia with civil disorder, a felony offense. He was also charged with misdemeanor offenses of entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds, and impeding passage through the Capitol grounds or buildings.
KYTC hosting public meeting to discuss Glendale bypass plans
Area residents will have a chance to provide feedback on the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s plans for roadways in Glendale. The KYTC will host a public meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30 at the East Hardin Middle School gymnasium as they present design alternatives “developed to improve system connectivity and reduce anticipated traffic through the Glendale Historic District.”
New attraction uses ‘augmented reality’ to bring historic Kentucky figures to life
Six Kentucky tourism agencies have partnered to create a fully immersive experience that brings historic Kentucky figures to life. The Kentucky Black Trailblazers is a transformative, first-of-its-kind experience that uses augmented reality (AR) to celebrate the influential Black figures who shaped the history of the commonwealth and beyond. The project was developed by tourism agencies in Shelby County, Louisville, Oldham County, Bardstown, Elizabethtown and Shepherdsville-Bullitt County.
