New Ohio law to impose tougher penalties on hooning and police chases
DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) -- 90 days from now a new law will be in effect that will crack down on hooning and police chases across Ohio. Representative Phil Plummer and Dayton Fraternal Order of Police President Sgt. Kyle Thomas agree that House Bill 56 was much needed in order to provide harsher penalties to those who lead police chases, and to those who engage in hooning or reckless driving.

Historical Society’s History in Making Contest
Area photographers are invited to enter the History in the Making Photo Contest, sponsored by the Huntington County Historical Society and Frederick’s Photography. Photos of people and sites in Huntington County can be entered in the contest. All photos submitted will become part of the permanent archives of the Huntington County Historical Society, where they will give future residents a glimpse of life in the Huntington County of today.
Fire Hydrant Project begins next month
After a brief hiatus, the LaFontaine Arts Council (LAC) is once again inviting members of the community of Huntington County to participate in the Hydrant Project. The Hydrant Project is a year-long public art exhibit utilizing fire hydrants located throughout the City of Huntington to paint a variety of designs that follow a common theme. The theme for 2024 is mythical creatures. Previous themes have included Disney, Comic Characters and Children’s books.
K&K Insurance moving to Electric Works
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) A company founded in Fort Wayne in 1952 will be moving from its current location on Fort Wayne’s west side to a location near downtown. WARSAW — The Healthy Shorelines Initiative Grant program is available this year to residents of Center, Chapman, Pike, and Winona lakes. The Healthy Shorelines Initiative provides grant assistance of up to $1,000 to homeowners for shoreline projects that improve water quality and shoreline habitat while reducing erosion and decreasing runoff.
