Quincy City Council gets update on cleanup conundrum
QUINCY — A week after an open discussion about how much effort was being put into cleaning up Quincy, the conversation turned into how to fix the problem. At Monday’s Quincy City Council meeting, Director of Public Works Jeffrey Conte discussed staffing changes and nuisance abatement strategies to be conducted by Central Services.
Quincy Preservation Commission recognizes local landmark
QUINCY — The Quincy Preservation Commission recognized 1636 Hampshire St. as a local landmark during a special presentation on Wednesday, July 17. Mayor Mike Troup joined members of the commission in presenting a commemorative plaque to the owners of the property, David and Lynette Roll. Troup congratulated the Roll’s on this designation and said preservation is critical to Quincy.
‘Time for both parties to move on’: Settlement of civil lawsuit against city allows Welcome Inn owners to seek property sale
QUINCY — Nearly three years after city officials displaced more than 250 people by closing the Welcome Inn at 200 Maine, officials with the City of Quincy have agreed to a settlement and dismissal of a civil lawsuit, clearing the way for Quincy Property LLC, owners of the Welcome Inn, to explore a possible sale of the property.
