A group of 100 seniors set aside their ballroom dancing shoes to watch a breakdancing display at a care home event in Framlingham, UK.

After the demonstration by an international choreographer, the seniors were invited to have a go themselves. And they didn’t hesitate, throwing down their best moves from the comfort of their chairs.

Care home provider, Care UK, organized the event. In addition to breakdancing, the seniors tried weightlifting with foam weights, team rhythmic gymnastics, and shot put using mini sandbags.

But breakdancing, or breaking as it's also known, was the headline event, coinciding with its debut in Paris as an Olympic sport.

“Many residents have incredibly fond memories of past Olympics, so our event gave them a great opportunity to reminisce and share their highlights from previous years,” said Jennie Rodgers, Regional Director for Suffolk at Care UK. “While many residents are keen ballroom dancers – it’s safe to say they very much enjoyed breakdancing, despite never doing anything quite like it before.”
