The Mega Millions jackpot for Friday's drawing soared to a whopping $740 million, with anticipation mounting from devoted and casual players alike.

The winning numbers were drawn just after 11 p.m. ET on Friday, and we have the results below. The jackpot climbed to about three-quarters of $1 billion after no one won the jackpot in the last drawing on Tuesday.

"$740 million?! I reckon that's enough to buy a whole lotta fancy clothes for myself and maybe even treat my momma to somethin' special," X user Stephanie White wrote in a post Friday .

"Holy moly!" wrote X user @robinsondie9871 . "My lucky numbers are ready! Maybe this time it'll be me takin' that sweet, sweet cash and buyin' myself a brand new house with a pool."

A lucky player can walk away with an estimated $371.6 million lump-sum payment after taxes if they win Friday's Mega Millions jackpot. If no one wins Friday, the jackpot could jump to over $800 million on Tuesday, the announcer said after Friday's drawing.

Just two people have won a Mega Millions jackpot this year: First in March when a player in New Jersey walked away with a whopping $1.13 billion, and again in June when a player in Illinois won $552 million. Will you or your office pool be the third?
