The NFL preseason kicked off for multiple teams, with the Philadelphia Eagles taking down the Baltimore Ravens 16-13 on Friday night.

There were multiple former Tigers who are rookies that shined in this matchup , with one of them being former star linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. who is looking to earn a role in the Eagles stacked defense. If he continues playing like he did on Friday, that role will certainly be earned.

Trotter’s first impact play came on special teams, where he made an excellent tackle in punt coverage. He turned what could have been a big play into a minor one.

“It felt good,” Trotter said. “That was my first play out there. So, coming out there and making that play, backed up, and it felt great. I thank God. I thank my teammates, but I also felt really good getting in the game and that being one of my first plays out there.”

Later in the second quarter, Trotter recorded a key sack on Ravens quarterback Josh Johnson. It was a key third-down stop that helped the Ravens win the game.

“I thought he got a few yards,” Trotter said. “I was trying to make sure that he actually didn’t get the first down. Right there, I was just trying to make a play.”

Trotter did a great job making plays for his new team.
