Alabama basketball assistant coach uses riddle to stir up recruitment prediction on social media

One of the biggest recruiting targets on North Carolina’s 2025 big board is five-star recruit Jasper Johnson . The Lexington, Kentucky native is a big recruit who could be making his decision in the coming weeks. And the race appears to be down to North Carolina, Kentucky , and Alabama .

But one assistant coach from Alabama used a riddle that may have hinted the recruitment is all but over.

Crimson Tide assistant coach Preston Murphy tweeted out a picture with the caption: “RiDdLe Me ThiS: WhaT BeLoNgS In The BlANk CaRd?”

The image shows the Jacksonville Jaguars on a card, Justin Jefferson on a card and NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson. The blank card has an Alabama logo and no image. All three have “JJ” in common, which are the initials of Jasper Johnson.

Murphy is indicating something big in the recruitment for Alabama and it could be that the Crimson Tide have this thing wrapped up. The past few weeks have seen this race really turn into a battle between the Crimson Tide and Tar Heels despite Kentucky having the prediction on On3 .

The tweet also caused a stir on social media despite Johnson not even committing yet to the Crimson Tide. We don’t know exactly what Murphy knows but he probably isn’t tweeting this just for fun.

We will have to see what happens in Johnson’s recruitment and if UNC can pull ahead somehow.
