The Las Vegas Raiders welcome the Dallas Cowboys to Allegiant Stadium for Week 2 preseason action Saturday. Kickoff is set for 10 p.m. ET (NFL Network). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Cowboys vs. Raiders odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

Dallas suffered a 13-12 loss vs. the Los Angeles Rams Sunday despite coming away with 4 interceptions. The Cowboys failed to score a touchdown in the loss — all 12 of their points came from field goals. The ‘Boys gave up a 6-yard TD pass from Rams backup QB Stetson Bennett in the final seconds to choke the game away.

Las Vegas was handed a 24-23 loss by the Minnesota Vikings Aug. 10 while allowing 452 total yards of offense. QB Aidan O’Connell got the start Saturday going 7 of 9 for 76 yards, while Gardner Minshew played a backup role, completing 6 of his 12 passes for 117 yards and a TD.

Minshew is expected to start here, as the Raiders have yet to decide on a QB1.

Cowboys at Raiders picks and predictions

    Prediction

    Raiders 24, Cowboys 10

    PASS.

I expect the Raiders to win as -300 favorites, but a line set this heavily is never worth the risk of betting on. Bet on the spread and/or O/U instead.

    BET RAIDERS -6.5 (-115).

Given how badly Dallas’ offense played vs. the Rams, it is a safe bet to pick the Raiders to cover here. Dallas forced 4 turnovers vs. L.A. and failed to capitalize on them, and those turnovers were the only thing keeping the game close.

The likelihood that the Cowboys force that many turnovers vs. this Raiders starting unit to keep the game close is very low, so Las Vegas should be able to pull away in this one.

    LEAN UNDER 39.5 (-105).

I like the Under to hit here given how bad Dallas’ offense played in its preseason opener and since no significant Cowboys starters are expected to play.

Dallas also has a solid backup unit defensively, so the Cowboys should be able to put up some resistance, even against Las Vegas’ starters.

This is a lean because Las Vegas has a very bad backup unit defensively, and without knowing exactly how much the starters will play, it is very possible that the backups could allow the Cowboys to put up a solid amount of points.
