Patrick Mahomes improvises behind-the-back pass to Travis Kelce

On Saturday against the Detroit Lions, Patrick Mahomes connected with Travis Kelce on a pass completion.

It was a short gain but another highlight by the great quarterback.

Watch as Mahomes throws the pass behind-the-back and hits his tight end perfectly. The play went for eight yards and will be seen on replays all around the globe.

The guy might have a future as a guard … point guard in the NBA.

Mahomes was interviewed later in the game. He said the play was not called. Kelce ran the wrong pattern and he had to improvise.

The quarterback said he forgot about the play until halftime when someone mentioned it to him. He then knew what he was in for: a preseason play that was on highlights everywhere.
