Notre Dame football isn’t the only team dealing with preseason injuries.

Louisville, the Irish’s Week 5 opposition, has lost one of its expected major contributors at wide receiver, Caullin Lacy, to a broken collar bone. He’s is believed to missing the first 6-8 weeks of the season according to a report by Pat Forde.

This is a big blow for the Cardinals, as the transfer caught 91 passes for 1,316 and 7 touchdowns last season for the South Alabama Jaguars. Lacy was expected to take over some of the lost production of Jamari Thrash (NFL), Kevin Coleman (transfer) and Ahmari Huggins-Bruce (transfer), as Louisville had to replace its top three receivers from the 2023 season.

It’s looking more and more like a rebuilding year for the Cardinals, especially considering they have to go to South Bend to take on the Irish.
