North Carolina’s recruiting board for the 2025 class is starting to take shape as they will host several recruits for visits this fall. With a busy next few months upon us, Hubert Davis and his staff are seeking their first commitment in the class.

One prospect that North Carolina is in pursuit of is four-star combo guard Acaden Lewis.

The Washington, DC product is a top 35 player in the 2025 class and has cut his list of programs down to eight, getting set to make visits this fall. While Lewis has yet to announce those visits, it’s possible the Tar Heels get one.

And it sounds like they need to get one to make up some ground in this recruitment.

Per Rob Cassidy of Rivals , the Tar Heels have some ground to make up and are not trending in the right direction for Lewis. Here is what he wrote in his contenders article for Lewis:

PROBABLY NOT: Auburn, Michigan, North Carolina

Stranger things have happened, but the Wolverines, Tar Heels and Tigers have some work to do if any of the three hopes to land Lewis’ commitment on decision day. The good news is there’s plenty of time to do so. The bad news is, it doesn’t seem likely at this point.

It’s just one analysts’ opinion but that’s not great news for the Tar Heels in this recruitment. Lewis would certainly fill a need for the Tar Heels on the perimeter with RJ Davis leaving after this year and potentially Elliot Cadeau as well.

Getting him on campus would be a good first start and then impressing him and staging a comeback in this recruitment would be the next step.
