Caleb Williams is polarizing only to those who don’t like him

The Athletic’s senior writer Kevin Fishbain , who covers the Chicago Bears, joined the Dan Patrick Show and explained why, despite many polarizing stories about Caleb Williams, he does not think Caleb Williams is actually polarizing in Chicago.

Kevin Fishbain also weighed in on the criticisms of Williams from pundits and ex-NFL players, including Amani Toomer.

“If Caleb Williams became Russell Wilson 2.0, Bears fans would be thrilled. They’d have statues of him lining Lake Michigan,” he said, defending Chicago’s No. 1 draft pick. “There are so many stories about his career at USC that were polarizing. I don’t think he’s polarizing in Chicago and he definitely doesn’t seem polarizing in the locker room.”

People who watched Caleb Williams at USC are confused about the notion that Williams is polarizing. Caleb Williams was smiling and laughing with USC teammates at the Holiday Bowl. He didn’t play in the game, but he still showed up and supported Miller Moss and the other USC players in the game. Caleb was also richly supportive of other USC athletes in various other sports programs at the school. Caleb Williams is polarizing only to those already skeptical of him and who seem to jump at the first chance to find fault in him. For neutrals and for USC fans, Caleb is a good sport and a teammate anyone would love to have.
