    Former Bills coach with the Ravens, Joe D'Alessandris, dies at 70

    Former Buffalo Bills coach Joe D’Alessandris has passed away. He was 70.

    D’Alessandris was serving as the offensive line coach for the Baltimore Ravens since the 2017 season, the same position he held in Buffalo.

    D’Alessandris was with the Bills from 2010 to 2012 on Chan Gailey’s coaching staff. In that time, Buffalo allowed 87 sacks, the fifth-fewest in the NFL. His coaching career went back much further than that.

    D’Alessandris began coaching O-linemen back in 1979 in the college ranks. His first NFL job came with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2008.

    Earlier this month, D’Alessandris took a leave from the Ravens due to an “acute illness” and he passed away on Sunday.
