Jeff Zrebiec reports that the Baltimore Ravens are releasing veteran cornerback Damarion Williams ahead of Tuesday’s deadline, a move that could be described as shocking and maybe unexpected.

Williams entered the summer behind Marlon Humphrey and Arthur Maulet and on the Ravens depth chart.   Jayln Armour-Davis outplayed the former Houston star defensive back, and the additions of Nate Wiggins and T.J. Tampa in the NFL draft made earning a roster spot even more difficult.
