Report: Ravens to waive TE Qadir Ismail ahead of 53-man roster deadline

Qadir Ismail has NFL potential, and as the former wide receiver continues his transition to the tight end position, he’ll likely improve on a practice squad.

Jonas Shaffer reports that the son of the great Qadry Ismail has been waived ahead of Tuesday afternoon’s roster deadline.

The perfect candidate for Baltimore’s practice squad, Ismail was initially invited to try out at rookie minicamp and was signed to the 90-man roster at the start of Organized Team Activities.

A converted quarterback who transferred from Villanova to Samford University, he totaled 16 catches for 156 yards over two seasons as a wide receiver.
