The Green Bay Packers are parting ways with offensive tackle Caleb Jones. He will be released during final cuts on Tuesday, and Bill Huber of SI.com reports Jones will not be offered a spot to return on the practice squad.

Jones, who is listed at 6-9 and 370 pounds, signed with the Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He was on the team’s 53-man roster during each of the last two seasons but ended up appearing in just one game.

His attempt to become a swing tackle candidate for the 2024 season ends on Tuesday.

This summer, Jones started training camp on the non-football injury list and missed six days. He ended up operating as a third-string offensive tackle — behind Kadeem Telfort and rookie Travis Glover — for much of training camp.

During the 2024 preseason, Jones played 81 snaps — 74 at left tackle and seven at right tackle — over three games. He allowed one pressure.

Last season, Jones was a healthy scratch for 15 regular season games and both playoff games.

The Packers are attempting to find a capable swing tackle behind Rasheed Walker and Zach Tom. Telfort, Glover and veteran Andre Dillard were among the competitors.
