Bengals fans should be hyped about undrafted weapon joining practice squad

The Cincinnati Bengals raised some eyebrows with recent roster moves at running back, keeping just three on the initial 53-man roster, then cutting Trayveon Williams, only to bring him back later amid a flurry of moves.

But a certain practice squad running back should have the attention of fans, now.

Amid that mentioned flurry of roster moves, the Bengals added former Georgia running back Kendall Milton.

Milton went undrafted to Philadelphia, then routed to Cincinnati after rushing for 1,800-plus yards and 23 scores while averaging better than six yards per carry with the Bulldogs.

While he’s not going to crack the top two of the rotation headlined by Zack Moss and Chase Brown, nor is he likely to get special teams looks over Williams so soon, Milton is an incredibly intriguing long-term fit in Cincinnati.

Now out of the Joe Mixon era, the Bengals will have a long-term eye on the position. Brown could be one major part of that, but Moss is already 27 years old and only under contract through 2025.

If Milton can join the Bengals program in the right ways in the coming weeks and months, he’ll give the staff something to think about long-term.
