After all the flamboyant media appearances, it would be disappointing for Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson to lose yet again to the Kansas City Chiefs in week 1.

From the heroic speeches of defensive back Marlon Humphrey to the surmises about how dominant wide receiver Rashod Bateman will be, the Baltimore Ravens seem eager to make declarative statements about their potential upside this upcoming season.

The Chiefs, on the other hand, haven’t made many offseason declarations, and rightfully so. Consider that the Chiefs made the biggest statement possible by winning Super Bowl LVIII last season.

It’s also impossible to forget the disrespectful gesture Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce pulled when we displaced Ravens kicker Justin Tucker during warm-ups of the AFC Championship.

Ultimately, enough has been said about quarterback Lamar Jackson’s “hunger,” and Ravens fans simply want their team to defeat the Chiefs definitively on prime-time television. If not, the Ravens will again sit in the post-game conferences making all the right statements while the Chiefs walk away with all the bragging rights. Jackson and the Ravens need to get it done in week 1.
