The Bowling Green Falcons (1-0) and Penn State Nittany Lions (1-0) meet Saturday with kickoff from Beaver Stadium set for noon ET (Big Ten Network). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Bowling Green vs. Penn State odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Bowling Green beat the Fordham Rams 41-17 in its season opener on Aug. 29 while covering as a 15.5-point home favorite. The Falcons racked up 475 total yards without a turnover en route to scoring 5 rushing TDs.

Penn State opened its season with a 34-12 win over the West Virginia Mountaineers Saturday while covering as a 7.5-point road favorite. WR Harrison Wallace III had 5 receptions for 117 yards and 2 TDs.

Penn State is No. 8 in the US LBM Coaches Poll, conducted by the American Football Coaches Association and USA TODAY Sports

Bowling Green at Penn State picks and predictions

    Prediction

Penn State 45, Bowling Green 7

    PASS.

You wouldn’t want to bet the Nittany Lions even if a line existed.

    BET PENN STATE -35 (-110).

Penn State’s offense showed a lot of encouraging signs in the win over West Virginia, especially in the passing game. With those improvements, the continued consistency of the running game, and Penn State’s stout defense, the Nittany Lions have all they need to cover here.

The Falcons also allowed a whopping 401 yards to Fordham, which tells me that their defense cannot hold up against this Penn State team.

    LEAN OVER 49.5 (-110).

I expect Penn State to be able to carve up this Falcons defense en route to carrying this game to hit the Over as the Nittany Lions should get whatever they want in the running and passing games.

This is a lean because Penn State’s defense is so good that the Nittany Lions will not allow many points, meaning that Penn State’s offense will have to carry this game to hit the Over, which is a risk with the line set this heavily.

Also be aware that the Under hit in each team’s opener.
