61-year-old man behind bars after planning to meet with juvenile in Opelika, officials say
OPELIKA, Ala. (WTVM) - Opelika Police Department officials arrested a man who allegedly arranged to meet with a juvenile. According to OPD, reports of a suspicious incident with a juvenile lead to an investigation that began in June of this year. An investigation revealed 61-year-old Scott Morgan Kral from Auburn as a suspect. Kral was arrested and charged with the following:
One dead, two injured in fatal Lee County crash
A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 4:16 p.m. Saturday, June 29, has claimed the life of an Opelika woman. Carol L. Deangelo, 81, was fatally injured when the 2006 Jeep Cherokee, she was a passenger in, left the roadway and struck a ditch before hitting a tree. Deangelo was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Opelika Police Seeking Identity of Felony Theft Suspect
The Opelika Police Investigators Department is searching for a man involved in a Felony Theft. The suspect is responsible for allegedly stealing several hundred gallons of diesel fuel from Murphy Oil USA at 2950 Pepperell Parkway. The offenses occurred on June 4, May 31, and May 23, 2024, between 11:30 p.m. and midnight.
