Pedestrian killed in crash on Bishop Ford Freeway in Chicago suburb
CHICAGO (CBS) — A fatal crash shut down southbound lanes on the Bishop Ford Freeway in suburban South Holland early Monday morning. According to Illinois State Police, a pedestrian was crossing 159th Street after a previous accident when they were hit and killed by a car around 2:30 a.m.The vehicle involved in the crash stayed on the scene. All southbound lanes reopened around 8 a.m.

The numbers are pretty remarkable: The National Weather Service confirmed, more than two dozen tornadoes touched down across the Chicago area last Sunday and Monday.Five of those were here in the city.The tornadoes brought down trees and damaged buildings. Boys armed with machine gun robbed 14-year-old in Uptown, police say.
CHICAGO — In a shocking announcement, Chicago police said on Sunday that two teenage boys have been charged with using a machine gun to rob a 14-year-old in Uptown. The robbery occurred around 5 p.m. Saturday in the 5100 block of North Sheridan. Police said a group of people, including a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, robbed the younger boy at gunpoint and then fled the scene.
Boy, 7, hospitalized after being shot in head on Dan Ryan Expressway
CHICAGO (CBS) — A 7-year-old boy was hospitalized after he was shot on the Dan Ryan Expressway Sunday morning.Illinois State Police say a vehicle was traveling down I-94 near 73rd Street around 2:40 a.m. when someone in another car started shooting at them – striking the boy who was a passenger.The driver of the struck car exited the expressway and stopped near 22nd and Michigan to call for help. The boy was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head.State police closed the expressway's northbound lanes just before 4 a.m. to investigate. All lanes reopened around 4:53 a.m.Investigation into the shooting remains ongoing. No further information was immediately available.

Motorcycle rider dies after crash on Edens Expy. near Skokie, Illinois State Police say
A motorcycle rider died after a fiery crash on the Edens Expressway in the north suburbs, Illinois State Police said.ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7.
