ISU Extension holding annual land leasing, cash rent workshops
(KMAland) -- This month, Landowners and tenants can get the latest educational resources on land ownership in Iowa. The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is holding workshops across the state throughout August to share information with landowners, tenants, and others involved with agriculture production about the latest trends in farmland leasing and cash rent. One of the first in the region takes place Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Atlantic. Tim Christensen is a farm management specialist with the extension and is one of the individuals presenting at several of the workshops. Speaking on KMA's "Morning Show" program recently, Christensen says the roughly two-and-a-half-hour workshops cover various topics as lease terminations have to be issued in Iowa by September 1st.

Oelwein man arrested after brief police pursuit in Cedar Rapids
