Jasper’s historic Ruxer Field, transitioning from grass to turf
JASPER, Ind. (WFIE) - Big changes are underway, for one of the most historic and iconic baseball fields in the Tri-State area. Yes, the end of an era has come, for Jasper’s Ruxer Field. It’s been an all-natural grass and dirt field, since it’s inception, but now, they are tearing up that surface and replacing it with a brand-new, all-turf field. The project is estimated to cost just over $2 million, and be finished later this year.
Oakland City football to play its Season Opener at Enlow Field
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - There’s some exciting news coming from the Oakland City sprint football program, this Sunday. New head coach, Jared Maners, who was recently hired to lead the program, into its second full season of existence, announced on his twitter account Saturday night, that Oakland City will play its season opener, at Enlow Field, at Bosse High School.

Trent Sisley, a four-star forward in the class of 2025 out of Heritage Hills High School in Lincoln City, Indiana, will spend his senior high school season with Montverde Academy in Florida, he announced on social media Monday evening.
