How do you get really good at recruiting in EA Sports College Football 25? Let’s talk about it inside the post! (EA Sports College Football 25)

EA Sports College Football 25: The Art To Recruiting

Before I get started here, make sure you’re following what I’m doing with the East Carolina Pirates in EA Sports College Football 25. Everything that I do in the game can be found there. I created a hub so you can follow along with the series.

If you have been following the series, you know that I had a top 25 recruiting class with ECU in season number one, and in season two I had a top ten class. Season number three is on the way and I’m on track to land a top 5 class with no problem. That’s with spending basically zero coach points in the recruiter section.

If you want to get really good at recruiting, I have the secret. You just have to be willing to pull some cheese along the way. The CPU cheeses enough in this game so you’re only hurting yourself if you don’t heed my advice.

    1: Create Save Files

This is the most important thing that you can do. Don’t just create one save file. Don’t just rely on the CPU to autosave everything you do. A real recruiter knows the road ahead. Create save files and reopen them. Try different combinations. See what works and what doesn’t. There is nothing stopping you from advancing a few weeks to see what happens and then backing out so you know how to properly spend those hours. Plus this game has been known to glitch so this prevents you from losing your entire series beyond just properly planning out recruiting. This game cheeses enough. Be smart and create those save files.

2: DO NOT Use Scouting Points

When I say don’t use scouting points, I mean on the save files that you keep. Be smart in the way you scout players. Use those scouting points, take pictures of their ratings, and then back out keeping the hours for actual recruiting. Once you know how good a player is, keep those pictures on hand. Obviously, remove any player who is a bust from the board. It’s just absolutely key to not waste hours on something you can figure out ahead of time by properly using a save file. Nothing is stopping you from using your phone as a reference point to see how good the player is again.

Oh, and definitely don’t use scouting points in the transfer portal. Use a past save file to look up the player’s overall on their old team. That will tell you everything you need to know.

3: Use Hard Sells and Sways As Early As Possible

This doesn’t apply to noobs who just pick good teams to use. If you’re actually going through the grind and trying to build up a bad team, you need every advantage you can get. You also don’t know what interests a recruit right away. The green check marks in terms of what appeals to a specific recruit appear slowly over time as you continue to show interest in the player.

A player’s dealbreaker is a good way to figure out one of their interests but you still need to figure out the other two. Once the hard sell option appears for a player, use those save files. Advance a few weeks, take a picture of what interests the player, reload the file, and hard sell. If you’re not early, the big schools will beat you to the punch. If you’re not cheating, you’re not trying. If you don’t cheat, you will lose to the big schools for the big players. Put Barry Bonds in the Hall of Fame. It is what it is.

This video of the offseason I did perfectly describes what I mean. I was prepared and had pictures on hand. Hard sells right away and you get the guys you want.

Don’t be afraid to let that sway function fly either. If the recruit’s interest doesn’t align with what you can offer, the sway factor can turn the tide in your favor. Just make sure to put it back to hard sell once you have unlocked additional check marks.

4: Be Willing To Wave The White Flag

Again, if you’re not a noob and you’re actually going through the grind, understand that sometimes there is nothing you can do but wave the white flag. Bigger schools will win out on certain guys and there’s nothing you can do about it. Especially if the bigger school has a pipeline advantage. Don’t be greedy. Use those hours for good instead of wasting them on a player you’re never going to get.

Season number one I focused on collecting quality three-star prospects. Season two I got two five-star and a handful of four-star guys. Season three I’m loading up on SEVERAL five stars. Build some credibility with your program. Win some games. Up the coach prestige and championship contender status. Build this thing the right way.

Put your ego to the side. You’re not gaining anything by fooling yourself into thinking all the good players are coming to you right away. Don’t waste those precious hours.

There’s also nothing stopping you from creating those save files to make sure the simulation of the recruiting class they give you has a list of players with pipelines in your favor but that part is optional depending on how much time you have.

Go build a true dynasty. This cheese method is the best approach to truly creating a winner.
