Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine establishes Speed and Seat Belt Safety Corridor on I-90 in Cuyahoga County
CLEVELAND — Drivers on Interstate 90 in Cuyahoga County better get ready to buckle up. Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine announced Tuesday that the stretch of I-90 between East 55th and East 260th has been designated as the state's first "Speed and Seat Belt Safety Corridor." This means an increased number of state troopers and police officers will be monitoring the road for offenders, with the Ohio State Highway Patrol as well as the Cleveland, Euclid, and Bratenahl police departments all pitching in to help.

Pork donation to Mid-Ohio Food Collective
In the 20 counties served by the Mid-Ohio Food Collective (MOFC), more than 170,000 meals are distributed each day, with the mission of ending hunger one nourishing meal at a time. To support this community-based nonprofit, the Ohio Pork Council, on behalf of Ohio’s pig farmers, has donated $3,000 in nutritious, high-quality, protein-filled pork as a part of their annual Pork Power program.
Union Lions update playground with ACCF funds
The Adams County Community Foundation recently awarded a grant to the Union Township Lions Club for playground equipment at Union Township Park. The Club updated the old playground equipment, which had become a safety hazard. The new, larger equipment has a tower, several swings, two slides, a tic tac toe panel and a telescope. To help ensure safety for people using the playground equipment, the ground beneath the play area was padded with wooden mulch to provide a safe, shock-absorbing base for the play area.
