Big City Gamin’ closing due to difficulties recovering from post-pandemic economy
EUGENE, Ore. — Big City Gamin’ is closing its doors for the final time July 30 before transitioning into a different, more high-end sports bar. According to the owner, Brittney Whitmer, Big City Gamin', the sports bar/arcade bar hybrid located on the corner of Willamette Street and East 13th Avenue, continued to face declining business since the COVID-19 pandemic.

EUGENE, Ore. – With July being National Pet Loss Prevention Month, Greenhill Humane Society has implemented a new tool to reunite pets with their owners. Most animal shelters see an uptick of stray pets during July and Greenhill hopes to combat this trend with a digital lost and found chat box. Whether someone has lost or found a pet, the chat box explains how one can increase the chance that animals will find their way home. Greenhill has reunited 565 pets to their owners this year and 966 pets were reunited with their owners in 2023.
