Motorcycle crash in Verona sends one to hospital
VERONA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — A motorcycle accident in the Town of Verona on Friday, July 12 has sent one person to the hospital, according to Oneida County Sheriffs. Police were called to Rome New London Road in the Town of Verona at approximately 7 pm on Friday. Further investigation found that the operator of the motorcycle — later identified as 27-year-old Zachary Schnackenberg of Utica — was driving down Rome New London Road at a high rate of speed. Officers say that Schnackenberg tried to navigate a curve when his motorcycle exited the roadway.
Oriskany Falls man arrested in domestic incident
AUGUSTA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — An Oriskany Falls man has been arrested after an incident and search last week in Augusta, according to Oneida County Sheriffs. Sheriffs were called to a residence on Sunday, July 7 on a report of a domestic incident that had occurred two days later. Further investigation found that the suspect — 44-year-old Amjad Rashid Jr. of Oriskany Falls — had unlawfully imprisoned a female victim and her child. It was also reported that Rashid had allegedly hit the victim several times, causing an injury.

Bomb Threat at Rome Business Under Investigation
ROME, N.Y. -- A Rome business had to be cleared by police K-9s Sunday morning after a bomb threat. The Oneida County Sheriff's Office says they were called to LCS Janitorial Services on Martin Street in Rome just after 11 AM Sunday. The Sheriff's Office says that K-9 units cleared the building and surrounding area and the threat was deemed not to be credible.

UTICA — The 47th annual Boilermaker Road Race in Utica went off without a hitch, according to police and medical personnel. "No issues at all," reported Utica Police Lt. Michael Curley when reached Sunday afternoon. The Utica Police Department is out in full force during Boilermaker Sunday, both on patrol and along the course. Curley said there were no disruptions or major crimes reported in connection with the race.
