Construction Update Brattleboro-Hinsdale Bridge – July 3, 2024
BF A004(152) Motorists should remain alert for construction traffic entering and exiting the work zone from Vermont Route 142 and Depot Street. Due to current work on New Hampshire Route 119 associated with the project, the eastbound lane shift on NH 119 shortly after traveling over the twin bridges remains active. Signs and barrels are in place to assist motorists through the work zone.

Gill, MA Pursuing New Composting Program
A new community composting plan was approved by the Selectboard, beginning the process of getting a weekly compost collection program off the ground for Gill residents as a prior food waste pickup system is phased out. A “composting coop” will be located near the electric vehicle charging stations in the parking lot of the Riverside Municipal Building on Route 2. Residents who wish to use the site to drop off 5-gallon pails of food waste can sign up to receive a padlock code to access the enclosure once sign-up becomes available. The placement of the composting coop away from homes, with wood shavings placed on the ground, is designed to alleviate odor from the food waste.
Brattleboro Utility Work on Greenhill Parkway
Beginning on Monday, July 8, the Utilities Division will be replacing the sewer main on Greenhill Parkway and Strawberry Lane. Crews will be working between the hours of 6:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Residents will be able to access their driveways but on street parking will be limited during this project. The work is expected to take approximately six weeks to complete.
