AMORY, Miss. (WTVA) - Brooks Dampeer is entering year four as head coach of the Amory Panthers. Last season he led the Panthers to a 9-2 overall record. The Panthers will be playing in their own stadium this upcoming season. Due to their stadium being destroyed by a tornado, last year they had to play all of their home games at Tupelo high school. “We’re looking forward to playing back in Amory. And it’s really encouraging as we practice just less than 100 yards away from the turf stadium being built," says Dampeer. We had a low humidity day today across our area. We saw abundant sunshine as the rule. Temperatures did warm well into the80s to lower 90s. While, most heat index values across the area stayed in the 82 to 88 degree range. All of this was due to the dominance of high pressure.
