More very hot temperatures over the next several days
We saw another very hot day today across our area as high pressure continues to dominate our forecast. We saw most of the high temperatures in the upper 90s to lower 100s across the area. We saw some heat index values in the 110 plus category along the highway 82 corridor once again. We saw the high temperature in Tupelo reach 101 this afternoon. One degree shy of the record high. Also, the hottest day since August 26th of last year. As a matter of fact some portions of The Delta saw heat index values in the 120 degree category.

The Tupelo Police Department served a capias warrant on June 15 on Michael Scott Jones, 42, of Randolph. Tupelo running back JJ Hill and defensive back Iverson McCoy both announced on X on Monday that they were committing to Mississippi State. Hill chose to stay in the state of Mississippi and head to Starkville over offers from Ole Miss, Florida, Auburn and more, according to 247Sports. JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI - 29-year-old Jordan Cummins, was convicted on two counts of first-degree murder and received his sentence on Monday afternoon from Judge Faye Peterson.
