Township of Verona Looking For Part-Time Clerk
VERONA, NJ - The Township of Verona is looking for a part-time clerk in its building department located at 880 Bloomfield Ave. Responsibilities include invoice processing, answering phone calls, greeting and assisting office visitors, and maintaining records and files. Candidates will work no more than 24 hours per week and are between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. NYC, state officials reveal free ways to get kids off their phones and outside: ‘Don’t scroll through life’
City and state officials urged New York parents Tuesday to get their kids off their phones and outside — and they gave a few suggestions on how to do it. Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that pools at New York’s state parks will be free to all for the rest of the summer — including at Jones Beach on Long Island, Riverbank State Park in Manhattan, Roberto Clemente State Park Pool in The Bronx and Bear Mountain in the Hudson Valley. You can swim for free at these New York pools this summer
If you're a frequenter of the city's and state's many public swimming pools, you're by now familiar with the $2 entry fee that most of them ask for. That's, however, changing this summer: Governor Kathy Hochul just announced that the state is completely waiving entry fees at 14 state parks for the rest of the season. The list includes two public pools located in New York City: Roberto Clemente State Park Pool in the Bronx and the Riverbank State Park Pools in Manhattan.

ELIZABETH, NJ - The application portal for volunteer firefighter positions has opened according to the New Jersey Civil Services Commission. Opportunities are available throughout the state, including Elizabeth. The deadline to apply is September 3. The City of Elizabeth requires all applicants to be Elizabeth residents. All opportunities require proof of residency in New Jersey. N.J. mayor who made racist remarks caught using a slur, again
Clark Mayor Sal Bonaccorso is not apologizing for calling a political rival a slur for people with intellectual disabilities during last month’s council meeting. Bonaccorso made the derogatory remark during the township’s June 20 meeting after a Democratic candidate for council addressed the all-Republican board during its public comment portion, according to a recording on Clark’s YouTube channel.
