School supply drive to aid Dane County

VERONA, Wis. -- The Hansen Home Team announced Thursday it will host a school supply drive, in efforts to gather donations for The Road Home - Dane County .

The Road Home provides opportunities for homeless children and their families to achieve self-determined goals and affordable, stable housing. The HHT said it set a goal of donating 150 backpacks to the cause, along with various school supplies, which will benefit children who have moved from homelessness into housing.

The HHT said the drive will occur on July 21 from 1-4 p.m. at Veterans Park, in Verona. It will feature a Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream truck, a Verona Fire Department truck and crew, bounce houses, and raffle prizes.

The HHT said the backpacks and school supplies it collects will be distributed at The Road Home's annual "Families Moving Forward" celebration in August. More information about the event can be found at hansenhometeam.com/events .
