OAK HARBOR ― The Junior Fair Queen crowning got things started Monday at the 60th annual Ottawa County Fair at the fairgrounds. Fairgoers have a chance to walk the midway, enjoy some fair food favorites, try rides, watch and bet on harness racing, check out the farm animals and exhibits, and enjoy good times while staying with friends and family at the on-site campground through Sunday.

FREMONT – Sandusky County Fairgrounds facilities are growing with the construction of a $200,000 set of livestock buildings. Currently in the midst of construction, there’s a roof, but not yet sides to the building. The pair of buildings are pole barns, intended to work together, with a multipurpose design.

60th Ottawa County Fair to kick off July 15
The 60th Ottawa County Fair will kick off July 15 and run through July 21 at the county fairgrounds, located at 7870 W. SR 163, Oak Harbor. The popular fair, which draws attendees from near and far, is officially one of the youngest county fairs in the state of Ohio beginning in Veterans Park in the Village of Oak Harbor in 1964 and moving to its current location – three miles outside of town in 1966.

On Saturday, August 17, 2024, United Way in Ottawa County will host the 2024 Incredible Rubber Duck Race in partnership with the Port Clinton Lighthouse & Maritime Festival. Concrete becomes canvas for Jersey Barriers Project
Next to the music stage in The District in downtown Port Clinton sits a colorful Jersey barrier depicting a whimsical, local beach scene that was painted by 12-year-old Lea Casados. Casados, who is the youngest member of the Port Clinton Artists’ Club (PCAC), painted the artwork as part of the group’s Jersey Barriers Project. Several downtown barriers were painted by club members.
