STATESBORO, Ga. (WTOC) - Last week, Georgia Southern Class of 2023 graduate Mason Williams found out he had qualified for the Korn Ferry Tour Finals, meaning he has a shot at earning at least a conditional Korn Ferry Tour membership for 2025. Now this weekend, he’s playing in the first...
'A great round": Potgieter moves up, 1 stroke behind McCarty with Mouw
BOISE — Aldrich Potgieter could feel the birdie barrage coming. Sitting five strokes behind leader Matt McCarty after 36 holes at the Albertsons Boise Open, Potgieter knew Saturday was the time to play catch-up. And that’s exactly what the 19-year-old South African did at Hillcrest Country Club. Potgieter filled up his scorecard with nine birdies and an eagle to shoot an 8-under 63 on an unseasonably cool day in the...

Two-time Korn Ferry Tour winner and Korn Ferry Tour Points List leader Matt McCarty maintains the outright lead for a second consecutive round at 19-under 194 and will carry a one-stroke lead into Sunday’s final round in his bid to earn the Three-Victory Promotion. Seven of the last 10...
Centennial tops Pocatello in finals of Peg Peterson Invitational gold bracket
POCATELLO — Over the course of 27 hours and six matches, the Pocatello Thunder proved to themselves and the state that they are, once again, a force to be reckoned with in 5A volleyball. They learned their own lesson Saturday evening, though: that, at least this time around, the...
Jaw-Dropping Report Names One Idaho College “Worst In America”
There are many reasons to distrust the standard US News & World Report rankings of the Best Colleges In America. Author Malcolm Gladwell has done plenty of research to prove the lack of fundamental research in the annual report, which seems critical for colleges to be highly ranked. It's no surprise that the top three schools in 2024 are Princeton and MIT, and a tie for third between Harvard and Stanford.
Governor Little Needs to Show Courage in the Face of Wildfires
The Wapiti Fire doubled in size over the weekend. Evacuations were underway in Idaho’s central highlands. People are grabbing a few clothes and medicines and fleeing. They may have nothing to return to when it’s over. My troubles in life are minor in comparison. In a post last Friday I made it clear this didn’t need to happen. People dictate forest management in a far-away national capital, and they’re listening to limousine liberals with no clue about life in Idaho, which is why there’s so little national news coverage about our plight.
250 U.S. Army soldiers from Lewis-McChord join effort fighting Idaho’s West Mountain Complex fires
BOULDER FIRE, BOISE NATIONAL FOREST – Up since 5 a.m., U.S. Army First Lt. Andrew Harvey’s cheeks and yellow fire-resistant shirt are streaked with ash as he walks a grid pattern along the fire line, searching for any signs of heat. It’s Harvey’s first time fighting a real wildfire, and he wouldn’t rather be anywhere […]
Idaho Announces New Punishment For People Who Owe Child Support
There are a variety of ways to get someone to catch up on what they owe in child support... and then there's the Idaho way. Idaho Department of Health & Welfare Has Had Enough. The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare has "had it up to here" with unpaid child support and in a recent press release, the state of Idaho reported a whopping $130 million in past due child support.
It will warm up before the next front moves in
CBS2 Boise — We had a taste of autumn over the weekend. On Saturday, the high was only 69 degrees. That was almost 20 degrees cooler than normal for this time of the year. Even Sunday was about 10 degrees below normal. This was thanks to a trough of low pressure that moved through the state. However, we are still in s summer pattern and that means temperatures can warm rapidly given the high sun angle in August. As a result, a warming trend will move into the area on Monday. Look for lots of sunshine this week with highs reaching the mid 80's on Monday. This will be followed by temperatures in the low 90's on Tuesday! We'll call that the warm before the next cold front that moves in on Wednesday.
Idaho doesn’t produce energy like it used to. How drought, renewables are changing our landscape
Originally published Aug. 21 on IdahoCapitalSun.com. In 2009, hydroelectricity made up 80% of the electricity generated in Idaho. Last year, that number was 49%, according to reports from the Idaho Office for Energy and Mineral Resources. Drought is one factor contributing to the change in how much hydropower is a part of Idaho’s grid, but there are other aspects of the state’s energy landscape to consider, experts say. ...
Idaho Home Prices Have Dropped the Most in The Nation
Ah, the good ole days when Idaho's housing market was the envy of the nation. It's a challenge to describe the housing frenzy as thousands of Americans moved to Idaho, buying homes sight unseen. If you remember the days of the Oregon Trail, it was reminiscent of the gold rush.
This Idaho City’s Dumb Policy Continues to Anger Idahoans
Every city in Idaho is special to those who live there, regardless of how long they have lived in their own unique Idahome. No, we're not going to report that one city is the best over another. However, one city has a HUGE problem that threatens to disrupt anyone visiting this Treasure Valley city.
