    Victoria City grants support child safety initiatives with vehicle registration fee funding

    VICTORIA, Texas – The City of Victoria will be accepting applications from local nonprofits serving children for a grant-to-partnership program that allocates funding for child safety initiatives from July 2 through Aug. 16.

    The funding comes from the $1.50 child safety fee included in Victoria County's vehicle registration. By law, these funds must be used for child safety and welfare services.

    Previous recipients include The Gabriel Project of the Golden Crescent, Hope of South Texas, and Mid-Coast Family Services.

    To access the forms and guidelines, applicants can visit the Child Safety Program webpage .

    Three workshops will be held at the Municipal Court chambers, 107 W. Juan Linn Street, for applicants to learn about the application process:

    • July 31 at 11:30 a.m.
    • Aug. 7 at 5:30 p.m.
    • Aug. 14 at 11:30 a.m.

    The meetings can also be attended via Zoom and will be shared on the Child Safety Program webpage . Attendance is optional but will be considered during the application review process.
