    VICTORIA, Texas - The City of Victoria Parks & Recreation is hosting a "Back 2 School Bash" on July 26 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Bash will mark the end of their Fun Fridays event series that Parks & Recreation has hosted at Queen City Park every Friday this summer.

    Queen Cirty Park Fun Fridays

    “This event series has demonstrated how a simple gesture like giving away popsicles can build positive engagement and bring people to Queen City Park,” Recreation Coordinator Charisse Cruz said. “We are excited about the success of this series, and we will continue to work with our community partners to create opportunities for Queen City residents to come enjoy their park.”

    Children playing connect four at Queen City Park

    Children play a giant four-in-a-row set during a Fun Friday's event July 12 in Queen City Park. The four-in-a-row set is part of the City of Victoria Parks & Recreation’s Pop-Up Park.

    The series has provided Cruz with a way to hear what the community wants out of the park. After hearing the Queen City residents' feedback, they want the park to be put to good use and are glad the City of Victoria is making an effort to reactivate the park.
