MAY 22-MAY 24

SPRING REVIVAL — Mt. Gazerine Baptist Church, located at 3606 Kenbridge Road in Blackstone, will hold a Women of God three night Spring Revival from May 22 to May 24, beginning nightly at 7 p.m. The theme is “Lessons Learned from the Life of Ruth”. The guest ministers will be Rev. Dr. Vanessa Hicks and the Mt. Zion A.M.E. Zion Church family; Associate Minister Rev. Aileen Moorman and the St. Matthew’s Baptist Church family and Associate Minister Rev. Beverly Holmes and the Cellar Creek Baptist Church family.

SPRING REVIVAL — Zion Hill Baptist Church in Victoria will hold a Spring Revival from May 22 to May 24, starting nightly at 7 p.m. The guest speakers will include Rev. Michael Brown, Pastor of Mayflower Baptist Church in Kenbridge on Wednesday; Rev. Dennis King, Pastor of Rocky Mount Church in Chase City on Thursday and Rev. Tyrone Brown, Pastor of Macedonia Church in Keysville on Friday.

MAY 24

FIRE DEPARTMENT FUNDRAISER — Palmer Springs Volunteer Fire Department will hold a fried chicken dinner fundraiser on Friday, May 24, running from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be drive through and dine in options available, with a menu of fried chicken, green beans, boiled potatoes, a roll, dessert and water for $12 per plate. Preorders are highly encouraged and may be placed by calling 434- 689-2739 prior to 10 a.m. Preorders will be accepted until 10 p.m. on Thursday, May 23. The Palmer Springs Volunteer Fire Department is located at 1697 Palmer Springs Road.

MAY 25

FARMERS MARKET OPEN — The Kenbridge Farmers Market is open now for the 2024 season, running from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, May 25. The market is held on East Fifth Avenue, just across from the Kenbridge Recreation Center.

MAY 26

MISSIONARY PROGRAM — The First Baptist Church Greater Works Missionary Ministry, located at 821 Lunenburg Avenue in Victoria, will hold a missionary program on Sunday, May 26, beginning at 11 a.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. Dr. Deborah Daniels.

MORNING WORSHIP — Victoria Baptist Church, located at 1423 8th Street in Victoria, will hold worship services on Sunday, May 26 with Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m. Dr. Tom Stocks will continue the sermon series titled “Life of David”, with the sermon title “Suffering – A Road No One Wants to Travel”.

JUNE 1

FARMERS MARKET OPEN — The Kenbridge Farmers Market is open now for the 2024 season, running from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, June 1. The market is held on East Fifth Avenue, just across from the Kenbridge Recreation Center.

WIDOW’S MITE — The Widow’s Mite Group will meet on Saturday, June 1, beginning at noon at Marinos Restaurant in Victoria. This is a newly formed group of locals, for those who have lost a spouse. All widows and widowers are welcome.

JUNE 2

HOMECOMING – Gilfield Baptist Church in Kenbridge will hold homecoming services on Sunday, June 2, beginning at 11 a.m.

CHOIR ANNIVERSARY — First Baptist Church, located at 821 Lunenburg Avenue in Victoria, will hold a 97th anniversary for the church’s senior choir, with various singing groups on hand. The event begins at 3 p.m.

JUNE 5-7

REVIVAL — Gilfield Baptist Church in Kenbridge will hold revival services from Wednesday, June 5 to Friday, June 7, beginning at 7 p.m. nightly. Rev. Robert Waker from Forest Baptist Church in Meherrin will be the guest preacher.

JUNE 21

MUSIC IN THE PARK — The Town of Victoria will hold another ‘Music in the Park’ celebration on Friday, June 21. Musical guests for this event have yet to be determined. The event runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Railroad Park.

CHURCH SERVICES — Victoria Evangelical Presbyterian Church, located at 1419 8th Street in Victoria, will hold worship services each Sunday, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

CHURCH SERVICES — New Grove Baptist Church is open for in-person morning worship and teleconferences on the second and fourth Sundays at 11 a.m. In-person Sunday School will be held every week at 10 a.m. The call-in telephone number is 301-715- 8592. The ID number is 825- 3893-8062, with a passcode of 016713. Masks are required for in-person attendance.

CHURCH SERVICES — New Galilee Baptist Church, located at 4565 Plank Road in Kenbridge, has re-opened its church doors for in-person and teleconference services. These will be held every first and third Sunday, beginning at 11 a.m. Masks are required and people are asked to bring their own Bible.

CHURCH SERVICES — Oak Grove Baptist Church, located at 127 Oak Grove Road, holds worship services on each first and third Sunday at 11:30 a.m. under the leadership of Rev. Boris Bullock.
