Apple Valley's music series Concerts in the Courtyard is back this May.

Follow the live rock 'n' roll reverb to the northwest corner of Dale Evans Parkway and Highway 18 for a two-hour night of local music. The free event fills up fast, but residents are encouraged to bring their own chairs and fill in the empty spaces, according to a written statement .

The first concert in the series was held on Thursday, May 2 and will continue through the end of the month.

There is no cover fee for the Apple Valley Commons shows, making the neighborhood event as enticing as ever. Not to mention, the outdoor patio is sandwiched between Round Table Pizza and Wing Stop for a convenient excuse to get out of cooking family dinner.

    • May 16: Southern Spirit, country
    • May 23: Lady T Tequila, R&B/ soul
    • May 30: Midnight Ride, variety

Live Thursday shows will continue through July in Apple Valley, transitioning from the 6 to 8 p.m. Courtyard shows to the Sunset Concert Series from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Civic Center Park Amphitheater.

Free up your Thursday schedule and support your local High Desert musicians.
