Clint E. Gibson, 50, of Bristolville, was driving a Dodge Caravan that went off the road and into the woods near the 51-mile marker of state Route 11 southbound.

The crash happened just after 4 p.m.

The van traveled off the right side of the road, hitting a log and trees. Gibson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Only Gibson was in the car.

“All we know at this time is that the 1997 Dodge Caravan was southbound on state Route 11, traveled off the right side of the road, struck some logs and then also some trees,” said Highway Patrol Lt. Erik Golias.

The Howland and Vienna township fire departments, as well as the Trumbull County Coroner’s Office, also responded to the crash.

    The crash remains under investigation.
