Woman killed on Santa Rosa trail ID’d
The Santa Rosa woman who was stabbed and killed Sunday night on a Santa Rosa trail was identified Wednesday. Lisa Shiffer-McCool, 61, was found unresponsive about 11 p.m. Sunday on the Prince Memorial Greenway, between Santa Rosa Avenue and A Street. UPD: Sonoma County man arrested after thefts, assaults at Ukiah businesses
A Sonoma County man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly assaulting employees while stealing items from at least two Ukiah businesses, the Ukiah Police Department reported. According to the UPD, officers responded to a restaurant in the 200 block of South Orchard Avenue when an employee (identified only as a 38-year-old Ukiah man) reported being assaulted by a man who ate there without paying for his food.
Rohnert Park Driver Arrested For Driving Under the Influence of Drugs and Possessing Drugs
A man in Rohnert Park has been arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and possessing drugs. On Wednesday night, officers pulled over Trevor Sundstrom for a moving violation and determined that he was under the influence of a drug. After seeing drug paraphernalia in plain view, officers searched the vehicle and found 28 grams of suspected fentanyl, 4 grams of suspected meth, and additional drug paraphernalia. Sundstrom was arrested after performing poorly on field sobriety tests and was charged with DUI, possession of narcotics, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Closing arguments are underway in the trial of a man accused of raping and torturing three foster children at his home in Rohnert Park. Jose Centeno, who was arrested nearly four years ago, has been on trial since last month. On Tuesday, Sonoma County Deputy District Attorney Ashley Hendon showed the jury photos of two of the children in torn clothes, with bruises on their bodies. The third child disappeared in 2012, when she was ten-years-old. Centeno is facing a long list of charges, including three counts each of torture and kidnapping for ransom. He is also facing eight charges in connection with the alleged rape and sexual abuse of the children.
