A number of workers in Chicago will see a pay boost come Monday when the city's minimum wage rises to $16.20. According to Mayor Brandon Johnson's office, the minimum wage increase, implementation of the Paid Leave and Paid Sick and Safe Leave Ordinance and a "scheduled enhancement" of the Fair Workweek Ordinance requirements will all take effect on July 1.

A new documentary film about political corruption in Chicago and throughout Illinois will be screened at The Crystal Theatre in July. "Lincoln is Crying: The Grifters, Grafters, and Governors of Illinois" is a "scathing indictment of political corruption in Illinois...and it's funny, too." The film was put together by the team of Director John Davies and Executive Producers Dave Truitt and Brian Kallies, and the story is told by journalists, authors, entertainers, and more. It is currently available as a one-hour censored version on WNMU-TV and the PBS Passport, but the screening at The Crystal Theatre will be the 4K, 86-minute uncensored version.
