Mexican national living in Lehi charged with kidnapping and attempted rape
On Monday, July 15, The Utah County Attorney’s office charged a male Mexican national who had been living in Lehi with multiple felonies. Rene Cervantes-Medina, 37, has been charged with kidnapping, sexual assault, sexual battery, threat of violence, attempted rape and domestic violence. Along with these felony charges, Cervantes-Medina was also charged with theft, driving without a license, using plates registered to another vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Three arrested on suspicion of beating, robbing Springville homeowner
SALT LAKE CITY — Three Utah locals have been arrested, following an investigation into an aggravated robbery in Springville. Christian Olsen, 38, Pohiva Fatafehi, 36, and Ronald Niel Noel, 51, were all arrested in late June following a Utah County Sheriff’s Office investigation into a robbery that left a victim beaten and injured, according to a booking affidavit.

DRAPER, Utah (ABC4) — A semi-truck crash in Draper shut down all eastbound traffic on 12300 South on Thursday, July 18, according to city officials. Details on the crash are limited, however, officials say the semi-truck struck a pole in the intersection of 12300 South and 265 West near I-15. The crash caused damage to the traffic signal in the intersection, disrupting the flow of traffic.
Former SUU Football Player Pleads Guilty To Murder
(Cedar City, UT) — A man who played college football in Cedar City is awaiting sentencing in two different murder cases. Christian Taele pleaded guilty to the second of two killings on Tuesday that he committed over two days earlier this month. The two killings also took place in two different cities, one being in Spanish Fork and the other in Ogden. He will be sentenced for the first murder in August and sentencing in the second case will take place in September. Taele was a running back at Southern Utah University.
